Sometimes a girl just has to lay back, relax, and let the creative juices flow!!
Today is a studio day. I’m preparing for the final critique in Advanced Fibers. The assignment: re-work a piece that was less successful than you had hoped or replicate one you fell in love with this past semester. I’m doing the former. I really loved my sewing machine made totally of thread, but know that it can garner lots of those visceral responses if I just make a few changes. It starts with the very mundane, yet critical, repetitive stitching of the base plate upon which the machine rests. The other young artists in the studio space thought my “Zen stitching state” was hysterical and snapped this picture. Life is good!
Thought for today: generally, we don’t get to choose how, when, or where we die. We do, however, get to choose how we live. Find joy!
