Like many people, my life is contained in a tiny 2 1/2″ x 5″ little gadget known as a cell phone. It’s my verbal, written, and one-step-better-than-snail-mail-aka email communicator, my calendar, my notebook, my recipe book, my navigation device, my weather alert system, my web-enabled crock pot manipulator, my camera, my photo album, and, oh yes, my list maker. I was standing in the grocery today, pulling up my grocery list for one last check when it came through.
“It” was the notification that my piece, Encaustic, has been accepted to Nor’Easter, a special show at the Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT!!!
If you feel like you have seen it before, you probably have! It not only was the centerpiece of my solo show brochure I posted recently, but also is currently on display at the Lieberman Gallery in Philadelphia, PA. This is just so exciting for me!!!!
The piece will be on display at the New Britain Museum of American Art (NBMAA), 56 Lexington St, New Britain, CT from April 29 – May 28, 2017.
What an honor to be chosen!!! NBMAA is recognized as the first museum in the world dedicated to American art, and is renowned for its preeminent collection of 11,000 works, spanning three centuries of artistic output. The award winning Chase Family Building features 15 galleries that showcase a permanent collection and upwards of 25 special exhibition or installations a year featuring American masters, emerging artists (that’s me!) and private collections. It has been called “a destination for art lovers everywhere”, “first class”, “a full-size, transparent temple of art, mixing New York ambience with Yankee ingenuity and all-American beauty”. “The NBMAA is not to be missed!”
I love this new life that is exploding before me!
Till text time, keep living creatively!
