Having been the matriarch of an American military family, I was recently struck by the beauty of the raiment of the Korean and Vietnamese military found in a book shared by my mentor, MiKyoung Lee. The symbolism and radiance of the many colors in these pieces took my breath away! The intensities of the blues sparked by the golden yellows reminded me of the dawn of a new day after conflict, the opportunity for peace and resolution as is the ultimate goal of those who wear the uniform of their country. The browns and greens in my piece remind us of the grounding of our values in the beauty of our earth. Capturing these same hues in Colors provides a vivid link of yesterdays with the dawn of my tomorrows.
