Even at the lowest of moments in life when emotions are spent and spirits are exhausted, the cleansing wash of the sea or the soft comfort of a summer’s sky can renew and refresh our sense of well-being. With a momentary pause to ponder, one can hear the crash of the waves, smell the sea air, or feel the soft breeze on the cheek. The simplest pleasures of life bring forth a quiet beauty to the soul and courage to face the challenges that may lie before us.
Renewal is one work in the collection, Discarded. This collection manipulates and transforms once tossed materials into central elements of design and intrigue of each piece. In Renewal, Tyvek envelopes found in a paper trash bin are used as the solid base element in the piece. A close inspection will reveal the once green triangles hiding among the shaded edges of the work.
